Hyundai has revealed UK pricing, specification and technical information for its new Hyundai IONIQ 3, a compact electric hatch.

Customers can reserve the new Hyundai IONIQ 3 now by completing the online vehicle configurator and submitting their details at https://www.hyundai.com/uk/en/models/ioniq3/configurator.html. Those who place a reservation now will benefit from a £1,500 Hyundai Reservation Saving on all 61kWh models, unless and until an Electric Car Grant (“ECG”) becomes applicable. However, Hyundai anticipates that all 61kWh models will be eligible for the Band 2 ECG.

Hyundai claims the IONIQ 3 has been developed for drivers seeking an affordable, efficient and practical compact electric car. It is built on a 400-volt electrical architecture, delivering everyday usability, fast DC charging and AC charging up to 11kW. There are also two battery options, with the largest offering a driving range of up to 308 miles.

Outside, the IONIQ 3 introduces Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” design language to the compact EV segment. The Aero Hatch body shape combines aerodynamic efficiency with generous interior space, supported by a target drag coefficient of approximately 0.263 and signature pixel lighting that reinforces the Hyundai Ioniq electric vehicle identity.

The IONIQ 3’s distinctive exterior design ensures keen aerodynamic performance, but customers wanting to go further can choose the N Line Evo. It features bold styling changes to the front and rear, including a higher and wider rear spoiler with lower diffuser, bespoke 19in black alloy wheels, black mirror caps and N Line badging.

In another first, the IONIQ 3 is the first European Hyundai to feature Pleos Connect, Hyundai’s infotainment system based on Android Automotive OS. In the IONIQ 3, this system is available with a 12.9in or 14.6in display and supports intuitive access to vehicle functions, navigation and connectivity.

Other key new IONIQ 3 technologies include Hyundai Digital Key 2, Plug & Charge, an integrated EV route planner, interior and exterior Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality and Memory Reverse Assist, which can memorise the last 50 metres of driving inputs to assist with subsequent manoeuvres such as reversing out of tight parking spaces.

The IONIQ 3 might be a B-segment hatch, but this Hyundai has been designed to deliver space and storage typically associated with larger vehicles. Practical features include an open-bridge floating centre console, adjustable cup holders for large drinks bottles, Megabox underfloor storage and an impressive boot capacity of 441 litres.

The IONIQ 3 range starts with the Advance, priced from £22,245, with comprehensive standard equipment including 16in alloy wheels, LED front headlamps and rear lamps, front and rear parking sensors, a 12.9in infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear-view monitor, smart key with push-button start, smart cruise control with stop-and-go and an electronic parking brake.

There is also an impressive level of standard safety equipment, including high beam assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keep assist with lane follow assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist and blind-spot collision-avoidance assist. Advance is available with a 42kWh 147PS powertrain with an expected 213 miles of range, or a 61kWh 135PS powertrain with an expected 308 miles of range from £25,745.

Other IONIQ 3 trims available are the Premium priced from £27,445, the Ultimate priced from £29,945, and the N Line Evo priced from £31,495.
